haiku

my first ever haiku. well in case you dont know what a haiku is, it's simply put as a Japanese poem - consisting of three lines - where the first line has 5 syllables, second with 7, and third with another 5. now, i was somewhat decluttering my old stuffs some days ago and happened to come across those old , dusty, ancient archives. the literature magazine is actually a sub-edition of the St Mary's International School Tokyo 2003's yearbook. one of the school's ways to encourage creativity in students. really love the works. amused me as a kid i tell ya. so, students from ESL classes (ie kindergarten kids)  up until the High School boys get to send their literature works to the Editors. selected ones get printed in the Literature mag. and I, happened to be that lucky 3rd-grader who wrote a haiku on 'Spring'. and then one day in class, while i was happily reading Charles Dicken's during recess, Mrs Crawford called out the 'lucky students'. got myself a customized bookmark (lost it) and a certificate. LOL. wasnt the best poem i ever wrote anyway. i myself dont think it should went inside that mag. still, coming from a 3rd-grade junior, perhaps the editors thought they could do me some good deeds. and since this was my first ever written-poem,it simply made me luff that day :)

Haha.

ok. now i found another common interest in us which is creative writing. though in different language.

u made me remember my first and last (for the time being) poem that was published in Dewan Siswa Jan 2009. that too wasn't the best. but it was a good start i guess. insyaAllah.

anyway, mabruk! keep it up! rugi lah kamu tak attend Tinta Da'ie with Zaid Akhtar last week.

Syafa, in fact puisi melayu lagi senang lah. dua ayat pun boleh. kalau rajin baca majalah sastera, selalu jumpa bentuk puisi yang pendek macam ni. but to get ur poem selected by the editor and published in the magazine, it takes at least 3 months. :)
