friendship blooms

"The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the seller of musk, and the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows. So as for the seller of musk then either he will grant you some, or you buy some from him, or at least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows then either he will burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him."
its quite simple actually, to understand how life on earth works. Allah the Most High has brought us to life here, in order to test us. He gives everything we asked for, and in return the only thing He requested was for us to worship Him. thats all. but during that journey of life, the short period of time often left us searching and wandering alone in the dark  without knowing our true purpose of living. but Allah would never leave us wandering. He would always show us the true way. because His rahmat of Rahman and Rahim is all over the place, never ending and scattered throughout. once we realized what is our true objective, who we really are, we must seek ways to achieve and attain that aim and ambition.. for the benefits of ourselves.

thats when friends come in.

the Prophet Mohammad PBUH once said:
"A person is likely to follow the faith of his friend, so look whom you befriend."

The prophet gave us a very simple and clear message to whom should we be friends with. just look at those around him. His sahabats, they were once people of the jahiliyyah period. but when the nur of Islam came, Rasulullah turned them into brave companions with a strong faith in the one true God. these people, they befriended someone with the most noble character and look at what have they became: fighters of the deen who stood up for Islam and him no matter what happens to them. they would readily sacrifice even themselves for him. thats how much they love him.

in choosing friends, choose those who believes that life is not just about fun and enjoying, but about devoting yourself entire to Allah and His messenger. its not just about achieving ur ambitions of being some doctors or accountants or lawyers or whatever, but its actually how u use that ambition to help Islam.

in my eye, there are some friends who stands by u all the time, no matter how low u fall or how high u fly even if it is for a few moments- they are always there for you. theyre the ones who give u their silent and secret prayes, words of motivation and faiths, smiles of comfort and happiness- without u even asking for em. and when u see them , u are constantly reminded of how magnificent and gracious and loving Allah is to give u such beautiful-hearted companions.

Subhanallah! can u find them?

and then, theres also these friends who are a bit astrayed. he or she is not actually bad or sumn, no no. its just that they made a little mistake and u, as someone who sees thru that mistake should try at the very least, to advice him or her. yes, its hard at the beginning. ya lah, u cant expect someone to change in split seconds kan? why? because its a lifetime process my friends.. the very thing that ur doing, ie advising ur friends who had mistaken a bit is the very thing that was written very clearly in the Al-Quran. be very thankful for He has given u the hidayah to try and advice ur friends.. alhamdulillah..

The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practise regular charity, and obey God and His Apostle. On them will God pour His mercy: for God is Exalted in power, Wise.
- Surah Taubah : 71

now im not saying that its WRONG to befriend anybody. yes go on, befriend anyone you like. but bear in mind to always take extra caution of the do's and dont's in a friendship. befriend the righteous, and try to 'tarik' the misguided ones. if its too hard, stay away.. yet treat the rest in a gracious and just manner.

Staying at sufficient distance is necessary; yet treating everybody in a noble and kind manner is required.

and yes, always pray that one day, His hidayah would come eventually. yes, keep on praying..
jangan berhenti berharap. why? insyaAllah, that day will come. the day when everything would be fine.. just, fine..

p/s: thank you for always being there :) and forgive me for my mistakes.samasama menuju  syurga ya?
