Éclaireur

I am only but a sailor of this world
A thirsty tiny soul in the oceanic vast
I had left the anchored safety of my port
And made Knowledge my heavenly abode.

Pilgrimage to the land of wise
To find escape from the flame of separateness
Basked in the shadow of my pole of Existence and Love
And I saw I existed through him; essence of saintly Dove.

I helped others on their feet to see the world
Showered wisdom and tempestuous love upon
Like a hundred veils falling each moment
First to let go of the world, then to take step without feet.

The sail has set and the wind has shifted
My helm wheeled for the harbors as my heart flutters
My soul is to serve a greater purpose than my being
My one true love and King of all kings.

Because yesterday I was clever
And I wanted to change the world
But today I am wiser
So I am changing myself.

My mind is wandering to the thoughts and places we’ve been to. I hope it’s not too late to say thank you. Don’t grieve. What we lose always comes back in another form. Beyond our right-doing and wrong-doing, there is a field. Where souls lie down in the grass and too full to talk about the world. Where ideas, languages, and phrases like ‘hi’ don’t even matter.

I’ll see you there. I wish I could stay longer but it’s your time now. Until we meet again, good luck and may Allah bless you.
